Classes & Workshops
Kripalu Yoga, known as the "yoga of consciousness", values both ancient yogic traditions and the inner wisdom of each practitioner's body/mind. Physical postures, breathing techniques, deep relaxation and meditation are used to cultivate many of the benefits of yoga, including strength, flexibility, calmness, and overall well-being.
Kripalu means "compassion". In keeping with it's name, approaches the practice of yoga with the intentions of awareness, self-acceptance and authenticity. In this context, yoga is seen as a journey rather than a destination. This approach to yoga is less about achieving a certain form or reaching a particular goal, than it is about being fully present for the feelings and experiences of one's own yoga practice as it unfolds moment to moment.
I believe that a peaceful way of being starts on the mat & is carried into the world by each person whom we touch.
Students should bring their own mat and any props needed (blocks, yoga straps/tie, blanket, eye pillow). Dress in layers to ensure comfort throughout the class. It is recommended to abstain from heavy meals prior to class. Kripalu Yoga at Wisdom House, LitchfieldMondays & Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:45pm
$10 per class if you register for the entire session

Class size is limited to 13 students. Please bring your payment to the first class. Drop-in participation is permitted as space allows. Drop-In fee: $15
Finding Your Yoga
Postural analysis to discover misalignments that may be why your neck hurts during Sun Salutations or your back hurts in Warrior poses. Have your natural standing posture evaluated. Learn what to avoid and what to do to re-balance your posture. You will also discover how to modify postures to decrease discomfort.
This value added (free) service is available to students currently enrolled in a series of yoga classes. 30 minute sessions are scheduled prior to class, by appointment. You will need to wear form fitting clothing (i.e. shorts, sports bra, yoga wear, leggings).
Back Massage Lessons for Couples$120 for a 2 hr lesson
Have you ever wanted to give your loved one a back massage after a long day of work, but didn't know where to start? In this individualized class, you will learn & practice with your partner/loved one on the table. Learn basic massage strokes, proper body mechanics, and palpation of soft tissue. You will go home with a basic back massage routine you can use again and again. Call 605-5651 to schedule your appointment. |
